Somos más mayores. Hemos madurado. El voulez vous couché avec moi? pertenece al pasado. Ahora ha llegado el momento de aprender un poquito más y quizás sonar un poco más… sofisticados. ¿No queréis saber más sobre “el idioma más romántico del mundo”? El francés fue considerado durante el siglo XVIII el idioma culto y gracias a eso muchos otros idiomas tomaron palabras y expresiones prestadas. A todos nos suena ir a una gran fiesta en cuyas invitaciones podemos leer R.S.V.P, ¿no?

Si aún no estáis del todo convencidos, aquí os presento mis 5 motivaciones para hablar el idioma de Amelie, de Astérix y Obélix… ¡y de Tintín!

Estamos muy cerca: en el caso de España, los franceses son nuestros vecinos. Un poco más de camaradería no nos vendría nada mal. Compartimos costumbres, clima y nuestros idiomas son de la misma familia. Nos resulta bastante fácil empezar a entender este idioma, ¡y empezar a hablarlo también es cuestión de poco tiempo! Voulez-vous parler français… avec moi?
Literalmente, casi TODO el mundo habla francés: es decir, de los 5 continentes poblados, 3 tienen el francés como idioma oficial en alguno de sus países. ¡Eso es mayoría! Por ejemplo, en Europa podrás hablar francés en Francia, Bélgica o Suiza, en América podrás hablarlo en Canadá y en África en Costa de Marfil o Gabón.
Los franceses (solo) hablan francés: es de sobra conocido que a los franceses lo que más les gusta no es beber champán ni comer cruasanes… ¡Lo que más les gusta es hablar francés! Eso no significa que no hablen otros idiomas… Simplemente prefieren su lengua materna para dirigirse al mundo. Por eso, si hablas francés, serás más querido y respetado y, sobre todo, ¡más escuchado! Es por ello que la famosa frase de Nelson Mandela funciona de maravilla en este contexto: “Si hablas a un hombre en un idioma que entienda, ese mensaje llegará a su cabeza. Si hablas a un hombre en su propio idioma, ese mensaje le llegará al corazón”.
El francés es el idioma oficial de muchas instituciones de la Unión Europea y de varios organismos internacionales. Por eso, aprender francés te servirá para llegar más lejos profesionalmente, políticamente… ¡y como ciudadano!
La cultura francesa se puede entender en otros idiomas… Pero solo se puede sentir en francés. Su música, su cine, sus escritores y filósofos… Foucault, Julio Verne, François Hardy y la Nouvelle Vague son solo algunos ejemplos.
